I have been taking photographs for over twenty years, since I was first given a Pentax K1000 for Christmas when I was thirteen. These days I primarily shoot with my Canon D60.

My photos are included in several private collections. They are available for purchase as archival digital prints in a variety of sizes (I'd be quite flattered to have my work added to your collection!).

I also do regular freelance projects including portraits and documentary/editorial work. I welcome new assignments, so if you are looking for unique, beautiful, original family photographs, have a special occasion you'd like to capture, or a need for documentary or editorial photographs, I'd love to hear from you.

I am particularly inspired by the work of photographers Josef Koudelka, Francesca Woodman, Tina Barney, and Diane Arbus; by the French multi-media artist Annette Messager; and by authors J.M. Coetzee, V.S. Naipal, and Tim Winton, to name a few.

Most of my photos are taken using natural light while traveling in an unfamiliar city or "in-studio" (i.e. still lifes constructed on my dining room table). I am intrigued by the idea that any object can be interesting or beautiful (see the photographs of Gabriel Orozco -- the image Breath on Piano is a perfect example -- as are pretty much all of William Eggleston's photos), that every moment is worth paying attention to, and that it's important to always be looking. Photography seems to be the visual medium most atuned to capturing these moments and, in doing so, revealing interesting perspectives and insights about the world, as well as the occassional mind-blowing image.
